The Relationship between Nursing Staff's Communication Skills with Patients and The Quality of Health Services

Abstract

The study aimed to determine the relationship between nursing staff’s communication skills with patients and the quality of health services. The sample consisted of (300) patients in Tishreen University Hospital, who were present during the study data collection and agreed to participate in it (the available sample was applied). The researcher used the Hassan scale (2021) to measure the Nursing Staff's Communication Skills with Patients and to measure the Quality of Health Services, to collect data related to the study, and after transcribing the data, it was processed statistically and tabulated using the program. SPSS version (21).

The most important result of the study was: There is a statistically significant relationship between nursing staff communication skills (verbal communication skills, persuasion skills) and the quality of nursing services, while there is no statistically significant relationship between nursing staff communication skills (nonverbal communication skills, listening skills) and the quality of nursing services, the level of communication skills among the nursing staff was average, and the quality level of nursing services was average.
