Identification of Parasitoids Accompanying Olive Leaf Midge, Dasineura oleae F. Löew (Diptera, Cecidomyiidae) in Some Areas of The Syrian Coastal region.
Abstract
A study was conducted in Syrian Coastal region, to identify parasitoids accompanying the olive leaf midge, Dasineura oleae. Results showed many species of the ecto-parasitoids of Hymenoptera which parasitize on the third larval instar and pupae of olive leaf midge Dasineura oleae F. Löew during 2013 and 2014 in the Syrian Coast. These ecto-parasitoids belong to the families Eupelmidae and Eulophidae. An identification key for families of Hymenoptera was used for the Parasitoids depending on meso pleuron, number of tarsus segments and form of Prepectus. There are three species of the genus Eupelmus sp., of which E. urozonus Dalm was recorded. For the first time, the species Zeytinus hatayensis (Eulophidae) was recorded depending on the diagnostic characteristics of the male. Also, there is an endo-parasitoid of Hym.:Platygasteridae which parasites on the second larval stage of D. oleae. In addition, the species of the endo-parasitoid, Platygaster demades Walker.1835 was firstly identified and recorded according to the diagnostic characteristics of the female.

Dasineura oleae F. Löew ( Diptera ,Cecidomyiidae)
